Reclaim Dignity
Reclaim dignity
Your open-chested strong-footed
Deeply-rooted mother-gifted
Father-born human-animal dignity.
Noble like a swan,
royal as the thick maned lion
with starlight in his black eyes.
Lift your heart
vulnerable, soft, rent by grief
bearer of joy and peace.
Raise your heart to the morning sun
whatsoever the day may bring,
love or heartbreak
or spirit crushing ordinariness.
Walk in dignity
for it is your nature
let the brittle coat of failures and shame
crack and fall away
and emerge
tender and wise
humble and wild,
the king and queen you have always been.
Your throne this earth
your courtiers the animals and the birds
your crown these jewels of light
rising like fireflies and butterflies
to bless you with winged beauty.
The only response is service
A true king serving the earth
as the earth serves him,
a queen who carries the jewel of presence
with the deep authority of love
building a queendom of wonder
and blowing healing kisses to creation
at every kind step through
this green land of trees and miracles.
